1 skein cotton yarn, (I used stripe yarn that changes colors) #6 US Knitting Needles.

Notes: SL= Slip, WYIF = With Yarn in Front.

Cast on:   38 (32 pattern sts; 6 border sts.)

Border:

Row 1:        K1, P1 across

Row 2:        P1, K1 across

Row 3:        K1, P1 across

Row 4:        P1, K1 across

Pattern:

Row 1:        K1, P1, K1, P32, P1, K1, P1.

Row 2:        P1, K1, P1, K32, K1, P1, K1.

Row 3:        K1, P1, K1, P32, P1, K1, P1.

Row 4:        P1, K1, P1, P2, *Sl 3 WYIF, P2; repeat *, end K1, P1, K1.

Row 5:        K1, P1, K1, P32, P1, K1, P1.

Row 6:        P1, K1, P1, P2, *Sl 3 WYIF, P2; K1, P1, K1.

Repeat rows 1-6, till desired length.

Border:
