November 20th 2016 KAL Days 1-2 with photo after day 1

November 20th 2016 KAL Day 1:
Our recommended color is white but any solid color you like is fine.  Solids turn out better on this type of KAL.  Day 1 and day 2 will be posted on our blog tomorrow.  You will have a photo tomorrow on our blog of the rows after day 1.
Everyday rows will be sent via an email; I will be "Replying" to the first email so all of the rows will be on one email at the end of the KAL.  If you are a "Special Notice" member, you will need to get your rows for day 2 through fin al from our blog or checking our site for the "updated" emails. Yahoo doesn't provide for "reply" messages to be sent to the Special Notice members.
If you need help, check
How to Knit | KnittingHelp.com for any assistance or write an email to the group for help.  For day 1 and day 2 of rows, I will post photos.
Using Lifelines will help with any project. If you aren't sure what that is, there is plenty of info on the Internet about it but it is basically where you put thread or thin yarn through a row already worked, designating that all the rows to that point are error free. You should document what row you put the lifeline in so you have a point of reference. If you make any error after that point, you know you are OK with the previous rows anyway.
This KAL is a Lace cloth.
.Notes:  The pass first stitch of 3 stitches over last 2 stitches just means you aren’t going to pass the “YO” stitch but start at the first stitch after the yarn over and pass over the other 2 stitches
Level of Difficulty:   Easy

Materials:
1 Skein of Cotton Yarn, #6 or #7 US Needles
Cast on:  Multiple of 6 sts + Border (30 + 8= 38)

NOTES:
YO = Yarn over

Row 3:            Knit across.
Row 4:            K4, P30, K4.
Row 5:            Knit across.

Row 6:            K4, P30, K4.

November 1st 2016 KAL

We will do this a little differently this time.  This pattern I have re-named for our KAL as Thanksgiving Pie.  It is an old standard that some of you may have already knitted at one time but this is another dishcloth to celebrate Thanksgiving.

(This is also known as Knitted Round Dishcloth).

This is an old pattern that has been passed along by word of mouth for generations, or scribbled on index cards, and scraps of paper.
Finished Size:  Standard dishcloth size (for larger, change needles to larger size.)
Materials: 4-ply cotton yarn, such as Peaches and Cream;  knitting needles of appropriate size to match the yarn (I used #6). For the seasonal cloth you can use, red, orange or brown.  The colors would stand for Cherry, Pumpkin or Mincemeat pie.
Cast on 15 sts.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: k3, YO, k until one st remains on left needle. DO NOT KNIT LAST ST, turn.
Row 3 (and all odd rows): knit
Row 4: k3, YO, k until 2 sts rem on left ndl. Turn.
Row 6: k3, YO, k until 3 sts rem on left ndl. Turn.
Row 8: Bind off 3 sts, k2, YO, k until 4 sts rem on left ndl. Turn.
Row 10: k3, YO, k until 5 sts rem on left ndl.  Turn.
Row12:  k3, YO, k until 6 sts rem on left ndl.  Turn.
Row 14:  Bind off 3 sts, k2, YO, k until 7 sts rem on left ndl.  Turn.
Row 16:  k3, YO, k until 8 sts rem on left ndl.  Turn.
Row 18:  k3, YO, k until 9 sts rem on left ndl.  Turn.
Row 20:  Bind off 3 sts, knit across (15sts total).
Repeat rows 1-20 seven more times.  Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing the seam.  Sew cast on edge to bind off edge, and sew around center and pull to close hole.

The link to this pattern is listed above in case you want to visit the sight and print out the document from there.
