May 2020 KAL - Holiday Cloth Ideas (two versions)


Here is our KAL for May. There are two versions. They are cloths you can use for holidays.

June and July we will not post cloths.  If you would like you can send out one of your favorites. You can send a Link or if it is your design, you can list the whole pattern. Listing it on Facebook would be the easiest way at our Monthly Dishcloth page.

This month I am giving you two ideas on Holiday gifts. It is not intended for May only. This is a cloth to use year-round.

Materials:
2 skein cotton yarn, (I white as main color (A) & Navy for contrast color (B)) #6 US Knitting Needles.

Notes: Light color for main color and dark color for contrast
Cast on:   34

There is no border for this cloth.
With White (Color A):
Row 1:        *K1, P1; repeat from *across.
Row 2:        *K1, P1; repeat from *across.
Row 3:        *P1, K1; repeat from * across.
Row 4:        *P1, K1; repeat from * across.
Row 5:        *K1, P1; repeat from *across.
Row 6:        *K1, P1; repeat from *across.
Row 7:        *P1, K1; repeat from * across.
Row 8:        *P1, K1; repeat from * across.

With Navy (color B)
Row 9:        *K1, P1; repeat from *across.
Row 10:      *K1, P1; repeat from *across.
(leave the navy running alongside your work and pick up the White)

With White (color A)
Row 11:      *P1, K1; repeat from * across.
Row 12:      *P1, K1; repeat from * across.
Row 14:      *K1, P1; repeat from *across.
(Drop the White and pick up the Navy)

With Navy (Color B)
Row 15:      *P1, K1; repeat from * across.

(Cut the navy and pick up the white)

Border: With white, Knit one row

With White (A)
Row 1:        Knit across.
Row 2:        K1, P32, K1.
Row 3:        Knit across.
Row 4:        K1, P32, K1.
Row 5:        Knit across.
Row 6:        K1, P32, K1.
Row 7:        Knit across.
Row 8:        K1, P32, K1.
(Add Red or color B)

With Red (color B)

(leave the red running alongside your work and pick up the White)
