hi fellow knitters-

here we are... day 2...and ready to start our Intarsia knitting!

This is not complicated - just a bit of attention needs to be paid to the project at hand - if you are like me and watch tv while knitting, you may want to put music on instead!

NOTE: I will not be posting each day's rows in an email or at the blog - because the designer asks for a link back to her site - it's a free pattern.

Now is where you need your separate *bobbins* of white yarn [small balls of yarn]

You will start the first one when you come to the first CC [contrast color/red] -

You drop your white yarn, wrap/twist the new red yarn around, and knit directions for CC stitches, then pick up another bobbin of white yarn, twist the red and white, and proceed to end of row.

Now, when you get to the next row, you have your white yarn there, knit across -picking up red yarn at design - then drop and pick up that side's white yarn ball for remainder of row stitches.

Twist/wrap yarns - when changing yarn colors, to prevent a space/hole in the design.

SUGGESTIONS:

- Use stitch markers if you think you may forget to Slip first stitch of every row and Purl last stitch of every row.

- Highlight/color/underline the CC [red] stitches - it will help you immensely while knitting to see what is coming up in the row

Materials:
* MC [Main Color]: white cotton yarn - have two yarn balls [one skein divided in half]
* CC [Contrast Color]: red cotton yarn
* Knitting Needles: size 7, or your accustomed needle size
sl 1 = slip stitch as if to knit
K = knit
P = purl

Notes:  For this dishcloth pattern, you will be always slipping the first stitch of each row,
and you will be purling the last stitch of each row - if you want, you can place stitch markers
so that it's a reminder
**This will give you a very nice finished look on each side of your cloth

What looks like a *red line* across is my red cable in the circular knitting needles I am using - and, No! you do not need to use circulars for this cloth!  I just like them!

February 1st 2017 KAL DAY 1 & 2

Our recommended color is Pink (I used a gold color) but any solid color you like is fine.  The next two KAL’s are holiday related so red, pink, white, yellow would be good colors.

What I do have so far on colors in February: Pink for the 1^st and Pale Pink or Yellow for the 20^th. Remember that February is the month of “love”. Solids turn out better on this type of KAL.  Day 1 and day 2 will be posted on our blog tomorrow.  You will have a photo tomorrow on our blog of the rows after day 1.

Everyday rows will be sent via an email; I will be "Replying" to the first email so all of the rows will be on one email at the end of the KAL. If you need help, check How to Knit | KnittingHelp.com for any assistance or write an email to the group for help.  For day 1 and day 2 of rows, I will post photos.

Using Lifelines will help with any project. If you aren't sure what that is, there is plenty of info on the Internet about it but it is basically where you put thread or thin yarn through a row already worked, designating that all the rows to that point are error free. You should document what row you put the lifeline in so you have a point of reference. If you make any error after that point, you know you are OK with the previous rows anyway.

This KAL is a Lace Seasonal cloth.

Notes:  M1 = Make 1 stitch; (www.knittinghelp.com is a good source for knitting videos) SKP = Slip 1 (Knit wise), Knit 1, Pass Slip Stitch Over.

Materials:  1 Skein of cotton yarn, any color, but would look good in red or pink.

                          US #6 knitting needles, darning needle
