Row 40: K1, P1, K1, *K1, K2Tog, YO, K4; Repeat from *, end P1, K1, P1.

Row 41: P1, K1, P1, P28, K1, P1, K1.

Row 42: K1, P1, K1, K28, P1, K1, P1.

Row 43: P1, K1, P1, P28, K1, P1, K1.

Bind off and weave in ends

If you want to make a little longer, work the following rows:

Row 44: K1, P1, K1, *K3, YO, SKP, K2; Repeat from *, end P1, K1, P1.

Row 45: P1, K1, P1, P28, K1, P1, K1.

Row 46: K1, P1, K1, *K4, YO, SKP, K1; Repeat from *, end P1, K1, P1.

Row 47: P1, K1, P1, P28, K1, P1, K1.

Row 48: K1, P1, K1, K28, P1, K1, P1.

Then work the 2 k1, p1 rows and bind off.
