Everyday rows will be sent via an email, I will be "Replying" to the first email so all of the rows will be on one email at the end of the KAL. PLEASE NOTE: Use our KAL Blog if you don't see the rows. Every KAL I receive emails saying "can I get the rows for today?" If you see a response from me it may just say "Use The Blog" to remind you. If you are a "Special Notice" member, you will need to get your rows for day 2 through final from our blog or checking our site for the "updated" emails. Yahoo doesn't provide for "reply" messages to be sent to the Special Notice members.
If you need help, check How to Knit | KnittingHelp.com for any assistance or write an email to the group for help. For day 1 and day 2 of rows, I will post photos.
Using Lifelines will help with any project. If you aren't sure what that is, there is plenty of info on the Internet about it but it is basically where you put thread or thin yarn through a row already worked, designating that all the rows to that point are error free.
You should document what row you put the lifeline in so you have a point of reference. If you make any error after that point, you know you are OK with the previous rows anyway
Materials:
any two colors of cotton yarn will work. I would use a dark color and a light color. You could also use one solid and one variegated.
Needle: #6 or 7 whichever you prefer
Notes:
PW=Purl Wise
W/YIF=With yarn in front
W/YIB=With yarn in back
Sl=Slip
Day 1:
Cast on 35
Label your colors: 1 and 2. It doesn't matter which you start with or which one you label #1.
Border:
Knit 2 rows (Color 2)
Row 1: (Color 1) K5, *Sl 1 (PW), K5*; Repeat between *'s, end Sl 1, K5
Row 2: (Color 1) K3, Purl across row, slipping the previous Slip Stitches on to the right needle (PW), K3
Start row 3 with Color 2, dropping color 1 and let it run along the side of the row.
Row 3: (Color 2) K3, *K5, Sl 1 (PW) *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Row 4: (Color 2) K3, *K5, W/YIF, Sl 1 (PW), W/YIB *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Pick up Color 1 and drop Color 2, letting the other color follow along the side of the row. Follow this process when changing colors.
Row 5: (Color 1) K5, *Sl 1 (PW), K5*; Repeat between *'s, end Sl 1, K5
Row 6: (Color 1) K3, Purl across row, slipping the previous Slip Stitches on to the right needle (PW), K3
Row 7: (Color 2) K3, *K5, Sl 1 (PW) *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Row 8: (Color 2) K3, *K5, W/YIF, Sl 1 (PW), W/YIB *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
